Math We have started working with story problems. We make a picture of the story in our heads. Then we retell the important parts. Next we draw a picture of the important parts and add words and numbers. Last we write an equation. This is how we show our thinking when solving story problems. Poetry We were introduced to writing Poetry last week when Libby Correll visited our classroom. We listened to poems and then started one of our own about a fall leaf. Our poems do not rhyme. They describe using simile. We will be learning more about writing poetry this fall and winter. Science Here is our first adult mealworm. It is not a worm at all. It is a beetle. We have seen the cycle of larva to pupa to adult.  Eagle Room There is no Eagle Room this week. The Eagle Room teachers are attending a week of training in Seattle. They will be back on Monday, October 22nd. |
